Welcome to Mpotshane Safaris and Private Game Reserve!
This hidden treasure is situated only 60 km from East London on the N2 traveling towards Durban.
Mpotshane Game Reserve is situated 3kms along a well maintained gravel road from the Kei Cuttings off the N2 which makes access a pleasure.
Mpotshane Private Game Reserve is situated in the malaria free Eastern Cape of Southern Africa. The Reserve is privately owned and was established about ten years ago and invites you to share this unexplored paradise with us.
The reserve boasts with a number of game, bird and plant species. Game species that can be seen on our game drives include the following:
- Cape Bushbuck
- Burchells Zebra
- Southern Impala
- Common Blesbuck
- Grey Duiker
- Mountain Reedbuck
- Chakma Baboon
- Vervet Monkey
- Blue Wildebeest
The Reserve is partly mountainous, with gorges, waterfalls and hanging cliffs, offering some of the most spectacular views in Southern Africa. Open plains and bush that vary from pristine to ravine together with impassable wild areas create a haven for the above mentioned species.
We will entertain you with real South African hospitality from the moment of arrival to the time of departure and still keep in touch thereafter, the way good friendships are formed.
We promise to make your stay in the Eastern Cape a memorable one. Our aim is to make you feel part of our family and share the love that we have for nature with you.
During our winter months (April-August) temperatures range from 7.1°C (44.8°F) to 19.5°C (61.3°F) and 25.4°C (77.8°F).
These are ideal hunting conditions. In general, the weather of the Eastern Cape is kind to visitors.
Rarely reaching extremes except perhaps in the height of the Karoo summer, its nature depends not so much upon how it changes, but how much you move across the province’s expanse and into and out of different climatological zones.
